Job Overview

Metro Industrial Services is seeking skilled Electrical Maintenance Technicians for a prominent manufacturing organization. These roles are available as temporary/contract and direct hire opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct both reactive and scheduled maintenance tasks, which involve diagnosing issues by observing equipment in operation, disassembling machinery to access and replace faulty components, inspecting parts for defects, and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance manager to manage projects proactively.
  • Evaluate and propose engineered solutions to equipment failures.
  • Design, wire, construct, and troubleshoot electrical panels and machinery in compliance with NFPA/NEC standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians.
  • Support the safety program by participating in safety meetings, investigating incidents, conducting audits, and implementing corrective measures in line with safety protocols and 5S standards.
Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $33.00/hour based on experience

Work Schedule:

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Thursday, 5:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Essential Skills:
  • Expertise in interpreting programmable logic controllers, including I/O diagnostics and programming of safety interlocks.
  • Familiarity with Ube and Buhler Prince Die Cast machines, hydraulic systems, and servo shot controls.
  • Understanding of holding furnace operations and hot oil heating units.
  • Knowledge of Rimrock sprayers/ladles and their mechanical functions.
  • Experience with Fanuc and ABB robot programming and maintenance.
  • Proficient in operating overhead cranes and managing process water systems.
  • Ability to perform welding, rigging, and equipment relocation.
  • Skilled in forklift operation and articulating boom usage.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with advanced diagnostic tools for troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical issues.
  • Capability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Five years of maintenance experience, or an Associate degree with three years of maintenance experience, or a Journeyman card in the maintenance field.
  • Proficient in computer use, including knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Forklift and Lift/Boom Certifications are necessary.
  • Familiarity with TS-16949 quality systems is preferred.
