Metro Industrial Services is seeking skilled Electrical Maintenance Technicians for a prominent manufacturing organization. These roles are available as temporary/contract or direct hire opportunities.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Conducting both reactive and scheduled maintenance, which involves troubleshooting operational devices to identify issues, disassembling equipment to access and replace faulty components, inspecting parts for defects, adjusting operational elements, and performing repairs and replacements as needed.
- Collaborating closely with the maintenance manager to manage projects proactively.
- Evaluating and proposing engineered solutions to equipment failures.
- Designing, wiring, constructing, and diagnosing electrical panels and machinery in compliance with NFPA/NEC standards.
- Providing mentorship and support to junior technicians.
- Actively engaging in safety initiatives by participating in safety meetings, investigating incidents, conducting audits, and implementing corrective measures in line with safety protocols and 5S practices.
Hourly Rate: $33.00, commensurate with experience
Work ScheduleShift: 1st Shift, Monday - Thursday, 5:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Essential SkillsCandidates must possess an expert level of the following skills:
- Ability to interpret and manage programmable logic controllers, including diagnostics and programming.
- Familiarity with Ube and Buhler Prince Die Cast machinery, hydraulic systems, and servo shot controls.
- Understanding of holding furnace operations.
- Knowledge of hot oil heating systems.
- Experience with Rimrock sprayers and ladles.
- Proficiency in Fanuc and ABB robotic systems.
- Experience with overhead cranes and process water systems.
- Understanding of plant air systems.
- Ability to perform welding, rigging, and equipment relocation.
- Capability to operate forklifts and articulating booms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five years of maintenance experience, or an Associate degree with three years of experience, or a Journeyman card in the maintenance field.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Forklift and Lift/Boom certifications.
- Familiarity with TS-16949 quality systems.
