Job Title: Natural Resources Specialist

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is seeking a highly skilled Natural Resources Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Training Lands and Heritage Branch, you will conduct applied research and analysis to support the Army, Department of Defense, and the Nation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on landscape ecology and its applications in natural resource management
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate conflicts between training lands and ranges
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to transfer new information and technology to commands and installation users
  • Provide expert advice on land/climate/mission changes and their impact on natural resources
  • Stay up-to-date with new methods and technology in the field of natural resource management
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 1 year of specialized experience in reviewing data sources, researching land ecology, and identifying landscape conservation and/or sustainability
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position

This is a 2-year Term appointment with the possibility of extension. The position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project, and the DB-04 pay band includes the General Schedule equivalent to the GS-12/14 level.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL Mission Support Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
