Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transit Oriented Development Program Director to join our team at GoTriangle. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a portfolio of public transit facilities that support high-quality, frequent, reliable regional service and facilitate Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage development and implementation of GoTriangle's transit facility projects that serve as anchors for TOD, such as the Triangle Mobility Hub project.
  • Develop and guide the agency's long-term strategic efforts to maximize the value of its real estate portfolio and identify and pursue opportunities for TOD partnerships throughout its service area.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality transit facilities and promote sustainable, transit-oriented growth in support of GoTriangle's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
  • Oversee and manage on-time and on-budget progression of assigned projects, including risk management, safety management, and quality management programs.
  • Partner with local jurisdictions, NCDOT, railroads, utility companies, and other parties to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Develop and implement contract documents, prepare solicitation documents, pre-proposal conferences, proposal evaluations and recommendations, and negotiations with consultants, contractors, and private development partners.
  • Assess private sector development proposals, including analyzing developer qualifications, financial viability, site planning viability, impact on service, DBE compliance, financial return, and fulfillment of policy objectives.
  • Evaluate revenue and ridership-generating potential when evaluating development within the areas influenced GoTriangle's transit operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Planning, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Masters degree is preferred.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience in government and/or private sector real estate development roles is required.
  • Thorough understanding of planning, funding/financing, and implementing public private partnerships.
  • Ability to develop program objectives and work independently on several program objectives at once.
  • Exceptional level of interpersonal skills and professional judgement required to effectively communicate with government officials, staff, and the general public.
Working Conditions

Works in an office environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or extreme temperatures. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting operating facilities, properties, construction sites, and potential properties.
