North Carolina Community Health Center Association (NCCHCA) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Director of Learning and Development to lead our efforts in providing high-quality training and professional development opportunities for the health center network across North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a strong commitment to health equity and social justice. They will possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive learning and development programs aligned with the strategic goals of NCCHCA and the needs of our health center members.
  • Design engaging and interactive training materials, utilizing a variety of methods such as workshops, webinars, online courses, and mentoring programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions for diverse audiences, ensuring clear communication and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps and develop targeted solutions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in adult learning and development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and other relevant technology platforms.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a strong combination of education, experience, and personal attributes:

  • Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and delivering training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work.
  • A passion for health equity and social justice.

While not required, the Director may also have demonstrated the following knowledge, abilities, and/or experiences:

  • Prior experience with and knowledge of the Community Health Center program, including an understanding of state and federal policies specific to Federally Qualified Health Centers.
  • Understanding of state and federal policymaking, including budget and appropriations processes; rulemaking, administrative, and regulatory policy; Medicaid and Medicare policy development; and legislative schedules and processes.
  • Knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
  • Background in adult learning and education principles.
  • Experience in providing training and technical assistance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneNote, among other programs in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experienced with utilizing online meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with Higher Logic (Connected Community) platform.
  • Experience in meeting facilitation (both in-person and virtual).
Physical Demands:

Consistently working at the desk in front of the computer monitor, significant typing and data entry, the majority of the day is spent indoors and sitting.

Work Environment:
  • This position will be temporarily remote while NCCHCA is in the process of relocating to a new Raleigh-based office location. At that time, the position is likely to operate in a hybrid office-based environment in which staff work in the office at least one day a week.
  • Must have residence in or plans to relocate to North Carolina and commute to Raleigh-based office for in-
    office days. Must have high-speed, reliable internet service and a dedicated workspace for remote-based work
  • Occasional travel is out-of-town, by air, and overnight for conferences, advocacy events, and health center site visits, among others.
Salary Hiring Range:

$72,930-$85,500
