Job Overview

WRLD Foundation is seeking an experienced Grants and Compliance Manager to oversee its compliance framework and financial management activities. This role is critical in ensuring the organization's integrity and safeguarding its reputation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, managing risk, and overseeing budgeting and financial planning. They will also be responsible for managing the grantmaking process, including due diligence, grant selection, and ongoing monitoring of grantee compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US and international regulations affecting donor-funded grants and the ability to navigate complex compliance frameworks. They will also have proven expertise in financial oversight, budgeting, and grant administration, including experience managing international grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage risk and develop internal controls to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks
  • Oversee budgeting and financial planning to align with WRLD's strategic goals
  • Manage the grantmaking process, including due diligence, grant selection, and ongoing monitoring of grantee compliance
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on financial performance, compliance status, and risk management for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Public Administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in grants management within a nonprofit or philanthropic organization
  • Strong understanding of US and international regulations affecting donor-funded grants
  • Proven expertise in financial oversight, budgeting, and grant administration, including experience managing international grants
  • Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in English (additional language skills advantageous)
  • High degree of integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail in all aspects of work
