Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team at EMSL Analytical, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our laboratory staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and process environmental samples, ensuring accurate Chain of Custody documentation
Manage shipping and handling items received from clients, maintaining accurate records
Prepare and mail reports and invoices to clients in a timely manner
Coordinate the distribution of samples to analysts, ensuring efficient laboratory operations
Review and verify the completeness and correctness of incoming sample paperwork
Inspect samples to ensure integrity and packaging is not compromised
Maintain accurate storage and retrieval of samples, ensuring timely analysis
Generate analytical reports and enter data into our computer system, producing client-ready reports
Ensure timely reporting of results to clients, meeting required deadlines
Create and file final reports and invoices, maintaining accurate records
Utilize proprietary database software to create new job/projects, streamlining laboratory operations
Provide exceptional customer service, responding to high-volume phone calls and client inquiries via phone and email
Serve as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff, ensuring seamless communication
Perform various clerical duties, including answering phones, filing, faxing, and mailing as necessary

Requirements:

High School Degree or equivalent
2-3 years of experience in office, customer service, or call center environments
Science background desirable, with laboratory experience or education
Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and typing
Strong communication skills, with ability to interact professionally with clients
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills
Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
