Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for diagnosing and treating diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and interpret routine and specialized laboratory testing, including blood tests, urinalyses, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely test results, and to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations and patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory technologies and techniques, and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and licensure.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or AAB).
  • Valid state license (if applicable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
