Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to ensure accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including specimen preparation, testing, and quality control
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, microscopes, and other specialized instruments
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations and meet productivity standards
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
  • Current Louisiana license or temporary license as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician required
  • Meets CLIA and CAP requirements for testing personnel relative to scope of duties
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals
