About the Team

Connect is a team within Stripe that builds infrastructure for leading platforms and marketplaces to incorporate payments into their products. Connect has been instrumental in Stripe's growth, enabling users to distribute Stripe's payment processing directly to their sellers and merchants.

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Operations, Integration Reliability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Becoming a domain expert in the area of Connect Tax Reporting products
  • Handling end-to-end workflows to support tax reporting needs for platforms and marketplaces
  • Handling inquiries from internal teams and external partners' technical teams, often requiring detailed investigation and sometimes code changes
  • Engaging with Stripe's financial partners to drive alignment on product usage, troubleshoot and solve technical problems or breakages
  • Organizing and directing complex technical changes and projects between Stripe and our partners
  • Identifying and automating inefficient or unnecessary manual processes through code changes, partner agreements, or making and coordinating more complex code changes across Stripe
  • Designing future anomaly detection systems and tools to ensure that data flowing through our partner and internal systems is reliable and correct
  • Collaborating across the company, including engineering, accounting, financial partnerships and product, to trace and account for billions of dollars moving through the Stripe platform
Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • 6+ years of work experience (excluding tenure from internships)
  • Ability to write high-quality code
  • Comfort using SQL to navigate Stripe's data and diagnose the scope and urgency of issues
  • Experience with developer tools (e.g. git), and an ability to make well-scoped code changes in Stripe's codebase
  • Technical problem-solving skills, with an ability to develop a working understanding of a technical system using a variety of methods
  • Solid communication skills, with an ability to frame messages appropriately for technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a strong desire to deliver results, establish priorities, and reliably execute on solutions. An ability to produce work that increases the impact of others and helps us scale and grow is also highly valued.

Location

This role is available in either an office or a remote location. Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices.
