Job Summary

ICF International Inc is seeking a highly skilled Survey Management Specialist with expertise in Portuguese language to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in survey management, demographic analysis, and public health, with the ability to communicate effectively in Portuguese.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to countries in various stages of the survey process, including questionnaire adaptation, field staff training, fieldwork monitoring, report writing, and dissemination of survey findings.
  • Prepare or adapt training materials and work with implementing agencies to train local field staff in questionnaire content and interviewing techniques.
  • Manage and negotiate local cost budgets with host country implementing organizations.
  • Work with host country implementing organizations and other survey stakeholders to implement DHS surveys and activities to meet data needs within budget and time constraints.
  • Prepare IRB protocols.
  • Assure that DHS protocols are followed to ensure data quality and timeliness.
  • Write and review survey reports, including descriptions of survey activities and interpretation of survey results.
  • Communicate throughout all stages of the survey process with The DHS Program staff, implementing agencies, USAID Missions, and other key stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in demography, public health, nutrition, epidemiology, or a similar topic area.
  • 2+ years of experience in survey work, preferably on international programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in demography, public health, nutrition, epidemiology.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Portuguese.
  • Experience working with biomarkers and using computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) preferred.
  • Project management experience on international programs preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate survey content with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to foster productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders in a complex political environment.
  • Strong organizational and program management skills, including the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and set strategic priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
