About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Management Specialist to join our team at Guidehouse. As a Grant Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Translational Research Program within the National Cancer Institute.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Compliance: Assist grant applicants and institutional representatives in creating work products and documents related to reviewing grant compliance for DHHS, NIH, and NCI policies.
  • Complex System Queries: Perform complex NIH and NCI web-based system queries and create reports, as well as update workbooks.
  • Grant Administration: Assist with reviewing grant applications and preparing responses, analyzing and preparing reports to track status of awards and funding.
  • Data Management: Create, update, and maintain data tables and spreadsheets, and prepare summaries and reports based on findings and analysis.
  • Grant File Management: Maintain official grant files, prepare electronic documents, and upload images directly into the appropriate IMPAC II eGrants file groups.
  • Co-Funding and Tracking: Maintain and track co-funding, administrative supplements, diversity supplements, funds tracker using databases and SharePoint.
  • Budget Analysis: Prepare budgets for award in spreadsheet workbook, analyzing requested amounts based on allowability, allocability, and reasonableness.
  • Grant Budget Review: Assist staff review grant budgets, comparing figures and amounts, reconciling discrepancies, and recommending adjustments.
  • Human Subjects Tracking: Track enrollment of human subjects in grant-supported clinical trials using Population Tracking web-based module.
  • Policies and Procedures: Bring to attention of staff areas needing additional policies or procedures and contribute comments and suggestions on new policies, revisions, justifications for changes, etc.
  • Pre- and Post-Award Activities: Work with staff on pre- and post-award activities, including the preparation of grant awards.
  • Grant-Related Issues: Resolve grant-related issues, working with scientific and administrative personnel and with similar staff of grantee organizations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Required
  • Grant Administration Experience: Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in Grant Administration, Business Management and Administration, Scientific Research, Clinical Research, and/or related experience.
  • Database Management Experience: Experience in database management, budget analysis, and/or grants funding analysis.
  • Grants Policy and Regulations: Understanding of Grants Policy and Regulations.
  • Grant Administration Experience: Grant Administration experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in grants systems/software, Microsoft Office, IMPAC II, and/or QVR.
