Scope of Responsibilities:

This role reports to a Retail Regional Manager and is responsible for leading the branch team to meet annual sales and profitability objectives, possessing a comprehensive understanding of branch operations.

Branch Managers must comply with federal registration requirements as outlined in the SAFE Act.

Staying updated on operational, product, and system advancements is essential, alongside making sound risk management decisions. Additionally, obtaining Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing is required within a specified timeframe, with training provided by the branch.

Branch Managers typically allocate time to servicing existing clients while primarily focusing on business growth through proactive sales and outreach efforts.

Building strong partnerships with relevant bank departments is crucial to ensure timely and accurate resolution of customer service and employee issues. Full ownership of customer concerns until resolution is expected.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Branch Managers generally oversee branch staff directly.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of a degree, four years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years in sales and two years in a managerial role or demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Licensing for Life/Accident and Health Insurance is required within 18 months of entering the position, with training provided within six months.

Must achieve M&T Business Banking Specialist designation within 18 months of hire.

Strong knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and client relationship management is essential.

M&T Way Certification and Precision Leadership Certification are preferred, along with bilingual proficiency in Spanish.

Proficiency in common PC software, including Microsoft Office for word processing and spreadsheets, is necessary. Familiarity with internet and email is preferred.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Demonstrated success in sales and business development, with a fundamental understanding of profitability.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Proven ability to exemplify and coach outstanding customer service.

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and business partners throughout the organization.

Strong knowledge of financial services products is preferred.

Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills are necessary.

Fluency in both English and the specified second language, with proficiency assessed through an online evaluation, is required.
