Position Overview

The Senior Accountant's primary role is to strategize and manage the accounting functions within the department. This position will also supervise the creation of financial statements to monitor the organization's assets, liabilities, income, tax obligations, and other financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops internal controls and protocols for accounting transactions and budget formulation.
  • Supervises the preparation of business activity reports, financial projections, and yearly budgets.
  • Oversees the generation of regular financial reports; ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Manages tax planning throughout the fiscal year; responsible for filing the annual corporate tax return.
  • Conducts audits to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations; collaborates with external auditors and provides necessary documentation for the annual external audit.
  • Presents financial recommendations to management regarding short- and long-term objectives and policies.
  • Delivers financial analysis focused on capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is necessary.
  • Experience in Cost Accounting is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP is essential.
