Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Deployment Engineer to join our team at Cole Engineering Services, Inc. as a Cloud Deployment Team Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for the deployment, installation, and maintenance of PCTE, a Department of Defense cyber training environment/cyber range.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in the installation, configuration, verification, and maintenance of infrastructure and software applications in a virtualized and containerized environment.
  • Develop and implement deployment strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define maintenance windows, coordinate team schedules, and ensure system updates and operational readiness.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues, and implement solutions according to corporate guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including technical guides, user manuals, and other relevant materials.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve team performance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as IT, computer science, systems, or software engineering, from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience in a technically demanding environment.
  • IAT Level II or greater.
  • Security+, CISSP, or other equivalent certification required within six months of hire.
  • U.S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Functional knowledge of networking, including switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, VLANs, VXLANs, etc.
  • Experience with RedHat OpenShift, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, or similar container orchestration platforms.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and management.
  • Experience with VMWare vCenter, ESXi, NSX-T, and other virtualization platforms.
  • RedHat Services experience with IDM, SSO, and Satellite.
  • Proficiency in automation tools, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, PowerShell Desired State, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
