ROLE OVERVIEW
The Healthcare Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting patients who are seeking services within our Rehabilitation Department, which encompasses various therapies including Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing patient registration and appointment scheduling
- Collecting copayments and verifying patient demographic information
- Securing prior authorizations for therapy services
- Obtaining physician certifications for therapy treatment plans
- Conducting billing reconciliations
This position requires flexibility to work across multiple locations as needed, ensuring coverage during staff absences. Additional responsibilities may include:
- Ordering and stocking necessary supplies
- Setting up FOTO for assigned patients
- Assisting therapists with patient mobility and safety
- Performing cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Providing remote support to the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Audiology Departments
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in computer systems is preferred
- Experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Background in customer service is preferred
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology is beneficial
WORK SCHEDULE
The primary working hours for this role will be from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
