ROLE OVERVIEW

The Healthcare Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting patients who are seeking services within our Rehabilitation Department, which encompasses various therapies including Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing patient registration and appointment scheduling
  • Collecting copayments and verifying patient demographic information
  • Securing prior authorizations for therapy services
  • Obtaining physician certifications for therapy treatment plans
  • Conducting billing reconciliations

This position requires flexibility to work across multiple locations as needed, ensuring coverage during staff absences. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Ordering and stocking necessary supplies
  • Setting up FOTO for assigned patients
  • Assisting therapists with patient mobility and safety
  • Performing cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Providing remote support to the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Audiology Departments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer systems is preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Background in customer service is preferred
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology is beneficial

WORK SCHEDULE

The primary working hours for this role will be from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
