Patient Care Technician Job Description

Prairie Ridge Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Med/Surg Department. This 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week) role involves working day shifts from 6am-6pm, with every third weekend and holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and assist with patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Order supplies and services as needed, supporting the efficient operation of the department.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests and treatments, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Assist physicians and nurses in providing high-quality patient care, working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification and/or work experience within the last 3 years.
  • Patient Care Technician Certification - Optional.
  • Health Unit Coordinator Program Graduate - Optional.
  • CPR Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire.

FTE: 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week)

Shift: Days 6am-6pm
