Position Summary

The Certification Engineer 3 plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to all established certification protocols, regulations, and compliance methodologies for various projects. This position is integral to the successful execution of certification initiatives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a diverse range of certification-related activities in alignment with established protocols and a comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and administrative staff involved in certification programs.
  • Act as a representative for certification interests in technical discussions with clients and regulatory bodies, demonstrating strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Develop and manage certification and conformity inspection plans for assigned projects, ensuring all activities are coordinated effectively.
  • Draft correspondence to regulatory agencies on behalf of management, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Compile and analyze certification cost and schedule estimates to support project proposals, creating standardized tools for future use.
  • Develop and document regulatory and certification guidance materials, ensuring all documentation is thorough and accessible.
  • Assist in the creation of FAA-approved compliance methods for relevant regulations.
  • Support the execution of ODA procedures and maintain eligibility for ODA.
  • Create training materials on certification procedures and conduct training sessions for team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare management reports detailing performance metrics, historical data, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements, including audits and evaluations.
  • Design and maintain effective internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, accompanied by 5-7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent educational and professional experience.
Knowledge:
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices, particularly in aerospace contexts.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with FAA requirements for aircraft interior systems and design standards.
  • Knowledge of business management principles, including strategic planning and resource coordination.
Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on evaluating complex issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess alternative solutions and approaches.
  • Mathematical proficiency for analyzing data and applying relevant formulas.
  • Customer-oriented mindset, ensuring high standards of service and responsiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective information exchange.
  • Ability to draft technical documents and interpret regulatory materials.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities, particularly in collaborative settings.
