Overview


The Logistics Center Supervisor is chiefly accountable for orchestrating and managing the workflow within or across various departments of the distribution hub to ensure timely delivery and uphold quality standards by executing essential duties and responsibilities.

This role necessitates a positive and professional demeanor towards all team members and staff. A thorough understanding of all operational systems and processes is also required.
This position is designated for the 1st shift.

Hours:
Monday to Friday 07:30AM to 04:00PM

Key Responsibilities

Core Functions:


Implement necessary protocols in the event of an environmental incident or workplace injury, with a fundamental grasp of OSHA guidelines, incident rates, recordable incidents, near misses, and first aid.

Ability to identify appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for tasks and enforce accountability for PPE usage among team members.
Capability to interpret process flows, applicable specifications, work instructions, and planning utilized in distribution.

Comprehension of the audit process, the significance of transparent reporting, and the functionality of any equipment or tooling, with the ability to recommend improvements.

General awareness of the end customer and supply base.
Basic familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and DMAIC fundamentals.
Visibility into Inventory Operational Plans and performance; able to distinguish between raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Awareness of operational plans and weekly performance; capable of correlating results to objectives.

Demonstrate knowledge of how to establish UPH/CPH targets based on historical data and an understanding of the definition and components of VCPU.

Recognizes the distinction between material and conversion cost productivity.
Familiarity with general business and financial planning processes, such as the difference between gross and operating margins.
Engages in daily production meetings and supports leading shift start-up meetings while overseeing ergonomic programs.
Knowledge of the critical path for material flow throughout the entire process for retail, direct-to-consumer, and return-to-vendor operations.
Exhibits logistics knowledge, including truck routes for incoming and outgoing parts.
Understands how to calculate productivity and the inputs necessary for determining required headcount.
Recognizes the risks associated with making delivery commitments to customers.
Navigates through the site's ERP systems.
Possesses a basic understanding of warehouse management with the ability to troubleshoot relevant issues.
Demonstrates an understanding of various operational functions and their interrelations.
Recognizes the importance of employee relations through effective communication.
Understands the critical nature of obtaining team buy-in before implementing significant changes.

Aware of the collaborative culture being fostered within the current facility and across the supply chain, and understands the business impact of a positive team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:


The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role, with or without accommodation.

Required to stand in a stationary position during scheduled hours. Hours may include weekends, evenings, and holidays in accordance with labor regulations.

Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate using various methods.

Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling, and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly, 25-40 pounds occasionally, and over 40 pounds infrequently with or without assistance as needed.

Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet occasionally with assistance as necessary.
Based on business needs, associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that necessitate different physical demands.

Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
One year of experience in a distribution center is preferred.
Yellow belt Six Sigma certification is preferred.
Education in basic lean concepts is preferred.
Prior knowledge of automated distribution center systems and current RF technology is preferred.
Comprehensive experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various levels within the organization.
Ability to learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all operational systems and processes.
Ability to read, write, operate a computer, conduct business-related mathematics, and analyze data as required.
Understand how to de-escalate situations using conflict management techniques.
Ability to provide constructive and timely feedback.
Proactive in developing personal skills and competencies.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a warehouse setting, with limited outdoor exposure during work hours. This role routinely utilizes standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, RF scanners, computers, and tape dispensers. Based on business necessity, associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that necessitate different physical demands.

Benefits
The compensation range is $23.00 per hour - $27.00 per hour. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position.

Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
