Job Summary

The Benefits Administrator will perform key responsibilities in benefits administration, utilizing various systems and carrier systems to ensure efficient and courteous handling of customer service calls and benefits-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Ensure timely and efficient handling of customer service calls from internal and external clients regarding benefits and benefits-related issues.
  • Benefits Enrollment: Serve as the main point of contact for benefits enrollment system for annual Open Enrollment, new hires, existing employee updates, qualified life events, and special enrollments.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot problems in benefits systems, make suggestions, and correct issues.
  • Communication: Respond timely to emails, faxes, and notices regarding employees' benefits and National Medical Support Notice orders.
  • System Maintenance: Monitor rehires for correct benefits coverage start dates and coverages for reinstatements, if applicable.
  • Employee Support: Assist employees and covered dependents in understanding Bernhard LLC's benefits offerings.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist employees with benefits enrollments and login issues in BEKI/Benefits Prime.
  • Benefits Meetings: Conduct benefits enrollment meetings, advise on eligibility, costs, and coverages.
  • Benefits Communications: Distribute benefit communications to eligible participants.
  • Benefits Inquiries: Monitor benefits email inbox and promptly respond to questions and requests.
  • Benefits Broker Involvement: Involve benefits brokers to assist participants with claims and questions, as needed, following HIPAA policies.
  • Benefits Reconciliation: Reconcile all benefit carrier invoices, allocate for cost accounting, and timely process all monthly benefits carrier invoices.
  • Benefits Auditing: Audit benefits carrier invoices monthly to UKG Benefits Prime and payroll deductions in legacy payroll systems to UKG Benefits Prime.
  • 401K Administration: Upload eligibility and demographic data updates into Fidelity for 401K plan administration.
  • Benefits Carrier Communication: Communicate directly with benefits carriers regarding employee eligibility and monitor benefits EDI files feeds for accuracy.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources functions, preferably in benefits administration.
  • HRIS Benefits Admin Experience: HRIS benefits admin experience and with insurance carrier admin systems.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite required, with advanced skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
  • Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to follow company procedures, good oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in the industry and Bernhard LLC's competitors.
  • Multitasking: Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Work Environment
  • Travel Requirements: 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
  • Physical/Work Environment Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, climbing stairs, remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, quiet environment, and light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Pay Range

USD $50,000.00 - USD $66,800.00 /Yr.
