Position Details:

We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Head of Strategic Procurement to become part of our team. This position is vital to our manufacturing processes, as you will be tasked with formulating and executing strategic procurement initiatives to guarantee the effective and efficient acquisition of raw materials and contract manufacturing services. A thorough understanding of global sourcing, commodity management, and risk mitigation is essential. If you possess strategic insight and a robust background in supply chain management and vendor relations, we would be eager to connect with you.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate and execute strategic procurement initiatives to ensure effective and efficient acquisition of raw materials and contract manufacturing services.
  2. Lead the vendor management process, including conducting quality assessments and managing supplier partnerships.
  3. Establish goals and objectives for the procurement department and track progress using KPI dashboards.
  4. Oversee the implementation and utilization of ERP systems within the procurement department.
  5. Manage risks associated with procurement activities.
  6. Direct the commodity management process to secure optimal pricing and quality for raw materials.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with overall business goals.
  8. Stay informed about trends and innovations in the nutraceutical and dietary supplement sectors and integrate this knowledge into procurement strategies.
  9. Supervise a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  10. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic procurement or a related field within the manufacturing sector.
  3. CSP Certification and APICS Certification are required.
  4. Strong familiarity with ERP systems and their application in a procurement context.
  5. Proven experience in vendor management and commodity management.
  6. Solid understanding of supply chain operations, including procurement, contract manufacturing, and global sourcing.
  7. Experience in the nutraceutical or dietary supplement industry is a significant advantage.
  8. Strong leadership capabilities with experience in team management.
  9. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  10. Strong negotiation skills and the capacity to cultivate and maintain robust supplier relationships.
  11. Knowledge of risk management principles and practices related to procurement activities.
