Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Director of Strategic Sourcing to join our team. This pivotal role is essential to our manufacturing operations, as you will be tasked with crafting and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to guarantee the effective and efficient acquisition of raw materials and contract manufacturing services. A profound understanding of global sourcing, commodity management, and risk management is essential. If you possess strategic thinking capabilities and a robust background in supply chain operations and vendor management, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Formulate and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure the effective procurement of raw materials and contract manufacturing services.
2. Oversee the vendor management process, including conducting comprehensive business reviews and nurturing supplier relationships.
3. Establish goals and objectives for the sourcing department and track progress through KPI dashboards.
4. Supervise the implementation and utilization of ERP systems within the sourcing department.
5. Mitigate risks associated with sourcing and procurement activities.
6. Direct the commodity management process to secure optimal pricing and quality for raw materials.
7. Collaborate with various departments to align sourcing strategies with overarching business objectives.
8. Stay informed about trends and innovations in the nutraceutical and dietary supplement sectors and integrate this knowledge into sourcing strategies.
9. Lead a team of sourcing professionals, providing necessary guidance and support.
10. Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements related to sourcing and procurement activities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
2. At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
3. CSP Certification and APICS Certification are mandatory.
4. Strong familiarity with ERP systems and their application in a sourcing context.
5. Proven expertise in vendor management and commodity management.
6. Comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations, including procurement, contract manufacturing, and global sourcing.
7. Experience in the nutraceutical or dietary supplement industry is a significant advantage.
8. Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management.
9. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
10. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain robust supplier relationships.
11. Knowledge of risk management principles and practices as they pertain to sourcing and procurement activities.
