Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive and seasoned Director of Strategic Sourcing to become a vital member of our team. This position is essential to our manufacturing processes, as you will be tasked with crafting and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to guarantee the effective procurement of raw materials and contract manufacturing services. A deep understanding of global sourcing, commodity management, and risk assessment is crucial for this role. Key Responsibilities:

1. Formulate and execute strategic sourcing plans to ensure optimal procurement of raw materials and contract manufacturing services.
2. Oversee vendor management, including conducting comprehensive business evaluations and nurturing supplier partnerships.
3. Establish objectives for the sourcing division and track progress through KPI metrics.
4. Supervise the deployment and utilization of ERP systems within the sourcing team.
5. Identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing and procurement operations.
6. Direct the commodity management strategy to secure competitive pricing and quality for raw materials.
7. Collaborate with various departments to align sourcing strategies with broader business goals.
8. Stay informed about trends and advancements in the nutraceutical and dietary supplement sectors and integrate this knowledge into sourcing strategies.
9. Lead a team of sourcing specialists, providing mentorship and support as necessary.
10. Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards concerning sourcing and procurement activities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
2. At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
3. CSP Certification and APICS Certification are mandatory.
4. Strong familiarity with ERP systems and their application in sourcing contexts.
5. Proven track record in vendor and commodity management.
6. Comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations, including procurement, contract manufacturing, and global sourcing.
7. Experience in the nutraceutical or dietary supplement industry is highly advantageous.
8. Strong leadership capabilities with experience in team management.
9. Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
10. Proficient negotiation skills and the capacity to cultivate and maintain robust supplier relationships.
11. Knowledge of risk management principles and practices related to sourcing and procurement activities.
