Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator

At Colonial Downs Group LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our employees and management team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide next-level guest service to internal and external guests, demonstrating our company culture in all interactions.
  • Foster an environment of support and motivation for team members, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information, adhering to established procedures and company policies.
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, greeting team members, creating and maintaining reports, and HRIS data entry.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, including scheduling candidates for licensing and orientation, preparing orientation packets, and setting up training space.
  • Provide customer service functions, answering team member requests and questions, and escalating requests to position supervisor as appropriate.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of supply inventory for the Human Resources offices, ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
  • Distribute uniforms and accurately track uniform inventory.
  • Assist with planning and execution of team member engagement initiatives, including anniversary, birthday, and promotional announcements.
  • Travel up to 10% on an as-needed basis to other properties and facilities.
  • Resolve problems within the scope of authority and recommend courses of action to resolve problems beyond the scope of authority to the position's supervisor.
  • Keep position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member's department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the team member may have knowledge.
Position Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a High School diploma or GED certificate, plus three (3) years in a related field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, or equivalent, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas. Must have a working understanding of human resources practices and procedures. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver's License with minimum of three years' experience
