POSITION: Aerospace Cabinet Fabricator I

Position Details:

  • Contract duration of 12 months with potential for extension

Role Summary:

  • Under close supervision, you will acquire and execute fundamental skills in crafting aircraft cabinets and wood-surfaced subassemblies based on engineering specifications.
  • Develop entry-level technical skills, understand regulatory standards, and familiarize yourself with the tools used in aircraft cabinet fabrication.
  • Enhance your technical abilities and problem-solving skills to advance to the technician level.
  • Follow safety protocols, utilize design drawings, and employ tools to gain proficiency in furniture preparation and assembly.
  • Use the material tracking system to manage parts demand, monitor issues, and confirm completed tasks.
  • Adhere to safety, 5S, and cleanliness standards, and utilize personal protective equipment to safeguard aircraft interiors.
  • Assist in the development and execution of related initiatives.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Experience in woodworking, wood finishing, auto body work, and painting in a technical setting is preferred.
  • A Technical Certificate in cabinet making or completion of a youth apprenticeship program in this field is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and adapt to various shifts is required.
  • Basic computer literacy is necessary.
