Educational Background and Experience Requirements
A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 1 year of experience in quality inspection or 2 years of experience in Gulfstream Aerospace manufacturing is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent aerospace background. Completion of a formal Inspection Training Program within 90 days is required. Position Objective: In a collaborative environment, execute all responsibilities in Initial Phase Manufacturing, Composites, and Final Phase efficiently to guarantee that aircraft components, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations conform to design specifications.Role Overview
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Conduct inspection tasks using engineering drawings, route cards, inspection travelers, work instructions, technical specifications, and quality assurance procedures. Carry out preliminary and progressive inspections of aircraft structures and systems, confirm operational functionality, perform final inspections, check for Foreign Object Damage (FOD), and validate documentation. Witness, verify, and document designated manufacturing process steps. Execute conformity and first article inspections to ensure adherence to FAA approved protocols. Ensure appropriate usage and storage of tools and equipment in the area. Perform duties in a manner that promotes health and safety for oneself and others, product safety, and encourages risk mitigation; actively participate in safety-related investigations, promptly report workplace hazards, and propose control measures; contribute to the overall success of the local Safety program. Additional Functions: Offer technical assistance to manufacturing staff. Conduct area inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives. Undertake other assigned responsibilities. Other Requirements: Proficient understanding of shop mathematics, and capable of reading and interpreting CATIA or blueprints. Skilled in the use of basic shop tools and equipment.Additional Insights
