Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sheetmetal Technician to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for safely laying out, fabricating, and installing parts, equipment, and fabricated items on aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sheetmetal Fabrication: Use complex schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft.
  2. Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior sheetmetal technicians, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  3. Project Oversight: Oversee projects or other technicians, assessing requirements and procuring necessary materials and documentation.
  4. Tool Operation: Safely operate shop equipment, such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheetmetal functions.
  5. Quality Control: Ensure all work meets quality control standards, adhering to safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.
  6. Material Tracking: Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
  7. Process Improvement: Collaborate with leads to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man hours.
Requirements
  1. Advanced Knowledge: Possess advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes, including forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
  2. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  3. Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  4. Adaptability: Adapt to sudden schedule changes and work any shift.
  5. Computer Skills: Proficient in using computers and experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
