YOUR ROLE:

As a Professional Services Engineer, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with clients to deliver installation, migration, training, and advisory services related to our advanced software-defined storage and data management solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of installations, from single-node cloud environments to extensive hybrid architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients using a consultative approach to understand their needs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Execute Statements of Work (SOW) with support from technical architects.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of documentation and scripts tailored to client specifications.
  • Communicate insights and opportunities to the customer account team.
  • Provide constructive feedback to product management and development teams.
  • Influence the strategic objectives and long-term goals of the Professional Services team.
  • Mentor fellow Professional Services Engineers to foster their technical growth.
  • Oversee multiple projects, either as the lead engineer or providing guidance to other engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in cross-platform system administration, particularly in mixed Windows/POSIX environments.
  • Proficient in networking, including advanced switch configurations.
  • Knowledge of high-throughput networking technologies such as RDMA, RoCE, and NVMeOF.
  • Familiarity with LDAP or Active Directory.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with configuration management frameworks like Salt or Ansible.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as Nagios and Prometheus.
  • Basic understanding of Docker.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications in vendor-specific SAN/NAS technologies.
  • Experience in implementing high-performance storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with clustered or scale-out file systems.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data storage technologies.
  • Experience in Windows Server or UNIX/Linux administration.
  • Understanding of cloud computing and object storage solutions.
  • Experience in technical writing or consulting.

PROFILE:

  • Degree in Engineering or a PhD in Embedded Software or a related field.
  • Experience in high-performance computing or media & entertainment production.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple client engagements.
  • Possess strong communication skills and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable in a hybrid working environment.
