Job Summary:
Regions Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Music Therapist Specialist to join our team in a part-time, benefit-eligible position. As a Music Therapist Specialist, you will provide music therapy services in a professional and compassionate manner, utilizing music therapy techniques appropriate for individual patients. In addition to direct service delivery, you will be responsible for documentation of services provided, as well as communication with referral sources and other treating providers, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide music therapy services to patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Document services provided and communicate with referral sources and other treating providers, as needed.
- Participate as an integral member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment and follow-up, as needed.
- Refer patients for additional integrative therapies when appropriate and necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master's Degree, or equivalency in music therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Music Therapy Association.
- Completed internship in music therapy.
- Experience providing music therapy in a hospital and/or healthcare setting.
- Current board certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists or passing score on the Board Certification Examination awaiting certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-graduate degree in music therapy.
- Neurologic Music Therapy Certification.
- Advanced certification and/or licensure to support position.
