Job Summary:

Regions Hospital is seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team in a part-time, benefit-eligible position. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering music therapy services to patients in a professional and compassionate manner. Your expertise will be utilized to create personalized music therapy plans, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver music therapy services to patients in a hospital setting, utilizing evidence-based techniques and best practices.
  • Develop and implement individualized music therapy plans, in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Document services provided, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with referral sources, healthcare providers, and patients' families, as needed.
  • Participate as an integral member of the healthcare team, contributing to patient care and outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment and follow-up, as needed.
  • Refer patients to additional integrative therapies, when appropriate and necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master's Degree, or equivalency in music therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Music Therapy Association.
  • Completion of an internship in music therapy.
  • Experience providing music therapy in a hospital and/or healthcare setting.
  • Current board certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists or passing score on the Board Certification Examination awaiting certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree in music therapy or a related field.
  • Neurologic Music Therapy Certification.
  • Advanced certification and/or licensure to support position.
