This role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing production operations across various locations, focusing on the design of mechanical and electromechanical fixtures and systems for manufacturing. The position involves addressing quality challenges within production processes and supplied materials, as well as developing solutions that promote continuous quality enhancements. The individual will also be responsible for training production staff and coordinating activities related to the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and maintenance of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the ongoing production of products, including mechanical and electronic assemblies, and related processes.
  • Assists in the electrical testing of products, the maintenance and enhancement of testing fixtures, and the analysis of failures in fixtures and assemblies.
  • Collaborates with quality assurance, production teams, and management to establish and uphold quality protocols within the manufacturing environment.
  • Designs fixtures and systems to support the production of various product lines, including weather, marine, and road safety monitoring devices.
  • Partners with Design Engineering to aid in the development of new products, assembly processes, and testing methodologies, including concept design and prototype testing.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in existing products and manufacturing processes, focusing on quality enhancement, cost reduction, and upgrades.
  • Engages with component and sub-assembly suppliers to enhance quality and minimize costs.
  • Produces and maintains precise documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials, specifications, and drawings.
  • Works collaboratively to transition products between manufacturing facilities, emphasizing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assists in managing the manufacturing aspects of new product launches in conjunction with Design Engineering and Project Management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with a focus on electromechanical design and fabrication from an accredited institution; knowledge of mechanical design, thermal and stress analysis; familiarity with various materials and tolerance stack-up; experience in machining processes; proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (3D CAD Solid Modeling Design software preferred); familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to address practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Capability to interpret diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Competent in effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and suppliers.
Additional Information:

• This position requires on-site work from designated facilities.

• Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship for employment-based work authorization.

• Compensation range: A reasonable estimate for this position is between $90,000 and $130,000 annually, taking into account various factors such as job responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market considerations.
