About the Role

Civica Rx is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in implementing, managing, and improving aspects of our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program to ensure the protection of people, the environment, and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Design, author, and revise EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Evaluate current activities and proposed changes for EHS risks and acceptable controls.
  • Lead Compliance Activities: Manage wastewater, stormwater, air, and regulated waste compliance activities and incorporate sustainability principles.
  • Monitor EHS Program Health: Trend leading indicators to understand the health of the EHS program and propose/implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with subject matter experts throughout the organization to mature understanding of EHS impacts and establish safe work practices.
  • Provide Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs to promote safe and environmentally responsible behaviors.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 Years of Experience: In an environmental, health, and safety role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards: And experience training staff on company and regulatory requirements.
  • Industrial Hygiene Principles: Understanding of industrial hygiene principles and environmental compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Industrial Hygiene: Managing an industrial hygiene program and performing exposure assessments in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and laboratories.
  • Behavior-Based Safety Principles: Experience with behavior-based safety principles and program management.
