Key Responsibilities- Environmental Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform a variety of duties necessary to maintain conditions consistent with the infection control standards of MedStar Health, including ensuring the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, adhering to MedStar Health policies and OSHA regulations, and following safety precautions when working with chemical agents.
- Housekeeping and Laundry Services: Distribute clean linen to designated areas, remove soiled linen from utility rooms, dust, mop, and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, offices, utility rooms, and common areas using appropriate solutions.
- Waste Management and Disposal: Empty trash and move waste to designated areas within the hospital, clean, wax, and polish floors by hand or machine, and vacuum carpeted areas.
- Facilities Maintenance and Repair: Report repairs or malfunctions to the EVS Director or Group Leader, and move furniture and supplies as directed.
- Customer Service and Communication: Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to ensure a positive experience for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred, less than 1 year of experience working in housekeeping within a hospital setting preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Written and oral communication skills, customer service orientation, meticulous work habits, and ability to follow proper cleaning procedures.
This position has a competitive salary range of $17.5 - $27.23 and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
