Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bed Management Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our patient placement team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing patient flow activities to ensure efficient and effective bed placement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign patients to beds in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing effective communication and technology to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, including physicians, nurses, and patient service managers, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Verify and reconcile patient information, including demographic, clinical, and insurance data, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospital staff, including EVS, to prioritize next and stat cleans and facilitate patient placement.
  • Stay up-to-date with hospital policies, procedures, and surge plans to ensure effective patient placement and bed management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, health administration, or related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment, with a strong understanding of patient flow and clinical coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and computer skills, with the ability to work under intense pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
