About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join our team at Concentra. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and ensuring a seamless experience from registration to checkout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and respectful manner
  • Communicate wait times and direct patients accordingly
  • Obtain authorization and process patients for services as needed
  • Check in patients using our patient management system and ensure proper completion of all paperwork
  • Answer incoming telephone lines and direct callers accordingly
  • Contact patients regarding appointment reminders, rescheduling, or cancellations
  • Check out patients in our patient management system and distribute records
  • File paperwork, medical records, and correspondence
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and printed forms
  • Manage dissemination of paperwork to outside parties
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
  • Attend center staff meetings and participate in initial and ongoing training
  • Complete processing of patient referrals, including accurate checkout, paperwork processing, patient education, and communication with Client Support Group
  • Assist in managing daily administrative functions and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility
  • Use our employer reporting tool to scan and distribute employer results and paperwork
  • Review clinician transcriptions and enter applicable charges via our internal charge entry system
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months to 1 year of job-related experience
  • Working knowledge of state-specific occupational medicine requirements preferred

  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic and propose quality solutions
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with people in a tactful and professional manner

  • Demonstrated effective communication and interaction with employers, patients, providers, and other employees
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain working relationships with all levels of employees
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and entry of data into various systems/applications
  • Ability to perform all aspects of front office operations
  • Drive to achieve or exceed established service standards
