Senior Formulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Formulation Engineer to join our team at ReCode Therapeutics. As a key member of our LNP Process Development team, you will play a critical role in the development of robust scalable LNP-encapsulated nucleic acids formulations and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Formulation Development: Execute studies to define formulation components, vehicle, and primary container.
- Lab Operations: Operate common biopharmaceutical unit operations such as mixing, dialysis, tangential flow filtration, and sterile filtration.
- Process Optimization: Support efforts in fill/finish process optimization, process characterization, technology transfer, and regulatory documentation for our LNP formulations candidates.
- Collaboration and Communication: Interface with External Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory organizations to execute on strategies for GLP or GMP batches.
- Characterization and Troubleshooting: Perform in-process characterization such as pH, particle size, encapsulation efficiency measurement etc. and support troubleshooting and technical investigations as needed.
- Pre-Formulation Assessments: Manage daily pre-formulation/material assessments of LNP screening and development.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain thorough and detailed electronic lab notebooks and documentation records.
- Presentations and Meetings: Support and participate in R&D and project management meetings. Prepare PowerPoint slides and present your findings to multi-disciplinary teams.
- Lab Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all laboratory safety requirements and procedures. Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality and lab equipment.
- Supply Chain Management: Assist in ordering and receiving of lab supplies.
- Education: S. or M.S. chemical engineering, bioengineering, pharmaceutical sciences.
- Foundation in Chemistry: Foundation in chemistry, materials science, bio-engineering, chemical engineering, or related field.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, comfort with a "start-up environment".
- CAD Software: Familiarity using CAD software such as Solidworks AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Competitive Salary: $115,000 - $135,000.
