Job Overview: Accountable for the overall expansion, management, and responsibility of a designated sales territory.

Key Responsibilities: Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Travel throughout the assigned region to conduct sales meetings with both existing clients and potential leads. Effectively communicate our product and service offerings to these clients and prospects. Gather competitive insights and collaborate with Inside Sales as necessary. Establish and implement a system for timely follow-ups with clients via phone and in-person to drive sales.
  • Overnight travel may be necessary, along with after-hours client engagement.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation skills and make informed decisions regarding pricing, service expectations, and overall client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships at all levels, demonstrating integrity to sustain or enhance sales volume.
  • Identify and cultivate new client accounts. Conduct outreach to potential leads and convert qualifying prospects into customers.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries related to billing, pricing, service quality, and other charges. Collaborate with production, credit, administration, and logistics to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Develop and leverage knowledge of market trends, competitor strategies, service benefits, and credit policies to optimize company profitability.
  • Maintain a thorough and current understanding of company products, processes, equipment, and estimating methods.
  • Coordinate special customer requirements with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager and sales team to strategize and implement plans for key accounts.
  • Adhere to quality standards consistently.
  • Follow established quality procedures for specific job functions assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of sales and/or purchasing experience in the metal industry is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the metal industry is essential.
  • Must possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record for insurance purposes.
Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage with clients and assist them in the purchasing process. Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical documents, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong presentation skills to prepare and deliver sales proposals to various audience sizes.
  • Adept at solving practical problems and managing a variety of concrete variables in typical business scenarios. Ability to interpret diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
  • Proficient in using desktop computers as a primary function of daily tasks. Must demonstrate the ability to learn pricing and inventory systems for efficient use during regular business operations. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend CAD drawings and detailed schematics to understand customer needs and how they relate to our processing capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
