Position Summary:

The Manager oversees the daily operations of the Epic Mountain Express (EME) counter at the Eagle County Regional Airport. This counter serves pre-booked guests and facilitates on-site reservations, operating daily to accommodate all incoming flights. The Manager is responsible for all facets of guest transportation from the airport, addressing guest inquiries, and serving as a resource center supporting the Vail Resorts brand. Additionally, the Manager supervises counter staff and coordinates EME drivers during their shifts at the airport. Incident management related to EME operations at the airport also falls under the Manager's purview.

The Manager participates in airport meetings and acts as the primary representative for EME to the public and airport authorities. Budget management specific to counter operations is also a key responsibility. Other duties may be assigned based on the seasonal flight schedule at the Eagle County Regional Airport. The Manager is expected to be the main on-site representative at the counter throughout all seasons, regardless of staffing changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee operational strategies for scheduled departures, luggage handling, private charters, and flight changes.
  • Manage the performance of all Epic Mountain Express personnel at the airport. Assess staffing needs to meet departmental objectives and assist in recruiting and hiring processes. Design and implement training programs focusing on employee growth and succession planning.
  • Achieve departmental goals through effective management of labor and expenses in alignment with budgetary forecasts.
  • Implement and meet revenue targets in accordance with strategic growth plans.
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction metrics. Establish and manage service recovery initiatives within the department to ensure all team members are trained in effective service recovery techniques.
  • Participate in team and management meetings, including those related to airport ground transportation, to foster professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with other Operations Managers to develop and enforce consistent policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree is preferred; a high school diploma is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is essential. Ability to learn other software used at EME is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices and operational knowledge in a high-altitude environment is important.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $72,125. Compensation decisions are made based on various factors.
