Position Overview:
The Sonnenalp Properties, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Laundry Operations Supervisor to manage our laundry and uniform services. This role is essential in maintaining a streamlined and effective operation while minimizing losses.

Compensation:
$22 - $24/hour

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise daily activities of the laundry team and ensure efficient department operations.
2. Conduct regular inventories of uniforms and linens, maintaining adequate stock levels.
3. Assess the quality of returned items to reduce losses and discard substandard items.
4. Collaborate with external dry cleaning services to control costs and address any service issues.
5. Manage the sorting and processing of laundry, including operating washing machines and dryers, treating stains, and selecting appropriate cleaning agents.
6. Perform repairs, mending, pressing, and folding of linens.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment maintenance.
8. Document losses and order necessary supplies.
9. Oversee uniform paperwork and coordinate with Human Resources on payroll matters.
10. Ensure proper fitting of uniforms and arrange alterations as required.
11. Recruit, train, and mentor laundry and uniform staff.
12. Monitor and assess staff performance regularly.
13. Assist in training staff on chemical safety and MSDS protocols.
14. Evaluate chemical usage and report discrepancies to the Executive Housekeeper.
15. Supervise all linen handling processes.
16. Schedule routine maintenance for laundry equipment and report any issues.
17. Ensure timely delivery of restaurant linens before service hours.
18. Conduct regular inventory checks for linens and uniforms.
19. Communicate any laundry or uniform concerns to the Executive Housekeeper.
20. Ensure all laundry staff are well-trained and proficient in their roles.
21. Create weekly staff schedules and adjust based on occupancy needs.
22. Promote a safe working environment through effective training and management.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; College Degree preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- Experience in a high-volume laundry environment, preferably in a luxury resort setting, is highly desirable.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and evaluative skills are necessary.

Physical Requirements:
- Work primarily indoors, with potential warm conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be capable of bending, squatting, and stretching for 2-3 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver laundry carts weighing up to 140 lbs.
- Caution required when operating heavy machinery.
- Flexible schedule, typically five days per week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
