Position Overview:


The Facilities Operations Manager plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Facilities Management with the oversight of daily operational activities and maintenance of the facility. This includes managing the various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems that are essential for the building's functionality.

This role also encompasses the administration of associated facilities services, which may include parking, transportation, and clinical engineering.

The Facilities Operations Manager will supervise contracted services within designated areas, ensuring that vendors fulfill their contractual obligations while enhancing the experience for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities include managing annual budgets and providing monthly variance reports related to these service lines, ensuring that service delivery meets or exceeds established standards.

Additionally, this position involves coordinating minor construction and renovation projects. Strong customer service skills and effective problem-solving abilities are essential.



Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management, construction trades, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing vendor contracts.
  • Proficiency in maintaining a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Strong skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing customer service challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in facilities management, construction trades, or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare facilities management or a related area.
  • Management experience.
  • College degree.

Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands for handling, and reach with arms. The employee may occasionally need to walk, sit, climb, or balance, and must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee contracted services for facilities, including system service agreements such as building automation and clinical engineering.
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure data integrity and generate key performance indicators.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal and external permit activities and manage the associated permit program.
  • Maintain the hospital's Facility Information System for accessibility and updates on critical management information.
  • Support the Director of Facilities Management in overseeing maintenance and operations of contracted services.
  • Act as a liaison with various departments for campus-wide issues.
  • Assist in the organization and administration of records for regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and ongoing projects to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in collaboration with the Department Director.
  • Provide financial and operational reports to demonstrate accountability.
  • Negotiate and review contracts with outside vendors for facilities-related services.
  • Review monthly financial statements and prepare budgets related to facilities management.
  • Respond to facilities emergencies with a calm and effective problem-solving approach.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Security, and other departments as needed.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for service contracts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
