Your Role

As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing master production scheduling and managing various inventory types, including finished goods and work in progress. This position is crucial for ensuring that we maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing the risk of excess or obsolete products. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams and plant schedulers to optimize stock levels and utilize data-driven insights to set critical system parameters for Target and Safety Stock. Your responsibilities will include managing short-term data horizons for capacity planning of production and labor resources, as well as balancing stock across our distribution network for enhanced operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop finished goods plans based on the Consensus Demand Plan to support customer orders and inventory needs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory is aligned with business strategies and targets.
  • Establish and maintain critical inventory parameters for finished goods, taking into account supply lead times and logistical constraints.
  • Engage with demand management, manufacturing, quality assurance, warehousing, and transportation to address inventory issues and consumption trends.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, ensuring adherence to established KPIs for assigned product categories.
  • Identify potential material shortages and create action plans to mitigate risks, coordinating resources as necessary.
  • Oversee long-term capacity assessments, weekly KPI updates, and product shortage reports, facilitating communication among supply planning partners.
  • Accountable for critical metrics, including:
    • Case Fill Rate %
    • Distress to Sales Ratio
    • Working Capital/Days On Hand Inventory (DOH)
    • Stock Transfer Order Utilization
    • Pre-build Monitoring

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is advantageous.
  • Experience in a collaborative environment within manufacturing or supply chain settings.
  • Familiarity with SAP and related supply chain applications.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Planning Systems (Logility/JDA/APO/etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Experience with modeling, analysis, and simulation tools.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships and communicate well with diverse teams.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance and training to less experienced team members.
