Role Summary
Are you interested in fostering a secure and welcoming environment for a variety of events? The DECC Security team plays a vital role during sports events, concerts, weddings, and other exciting gatherings. As a member of the Event Security team, you will be responsible for enforcing the DECC's safety and security protocols under the supervision of the Safety and Security Manager.

  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year in a security role.
Core Responsibilities (Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.)
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • De-escalate potentially volatile situations.
  • Conduct patrols of the venue, parking areas, and connecting walkways.
  • Embrace and uphold the DECC's safety culture and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time position with hours determined by event requirements. Shifts may vary, including daytime, afternoon, and evening hours, as well as some holidays. Due to the nature of events, exact ending times may not always be provided.

Uniform Requirements
Employees must provide their own black or khaki pants (jeans are not permitted). The DECC will supply shirts featuring the DECC logo.

Supervisory Duties
Not applicable.

Work Environment
Event Security personnel will operate throughout the DECC facilities and grounds. Work conditions may vary from cold to hot, and noise levels can range from moderate to high depending on the events taking place.

Physical Requirements
This role necessitates the ability to stand for extended periods, move swiftly between locations, and utilize hands frequently. Clear vision, hearing, and verbal communication are essential.

Travel Requirements
No travel is required.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of reference checks.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Successful completion of a drug test, if applicable.
Employment Status
This position is classified as at-will, meaning employment can be terminated by either party at any time, with or without cause or notice.
