Corporate Safety Manager

The Corporate Safety Director at LandCare is responsible for planning and coordinating health and safety programs across the organization. This role involves analyzing, updating, and controlling work processes to reduce occupational hazards and diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement programs and policies to improve safety metrics at under-performing locations.
- Support management teams to ensure consistent development, implementation, and execution of safety strategies.
- Perform corporate safety audits and field safety reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop strategies to reduce collisions and injuries, and implement accountability mechanisms to ensure safety accountability at all levels.
- Analyze safety metrics and trends to develop recommendations for solutions to improve results of key performance indicators.
- Provide guidance and technical support to management and safety teams to ensure compliance with regulations and laws.
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for field management for inquiries, questions, or needs related to internal safety, security, and loss prevention.
- Review business operations and safety trends to make recommendations to reduce costs and manage risks.
- Provide leadership and direction to operating managers regarding collision or workers' compensation investigations, reporting processes, regulatory compliance, and follow-up corrective action and preventative measures.
- Conduct investigations of more serious work-related accidents or illnesses.
- Manage external audit processes by regulatory agencies governing matters of employee occupational health, safety, and security.
- Coordinate communication with outside regulatory agencies as needed.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Current Driver's License.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
