Position Overview

The Junior Corporate Accountant will be integral to the corporate accounting department, executing a variety of accounting functions with precision and effectiveness. This position entails managing accounts payable, preparing journal entries, and conducting reconciliations, among other vital accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical abilities, and the capacity to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. This role is hourly and encompasses diverse aspects of corporate accounting. The Junior Corporate Accountant will collaborate closely with team members and other departments to guarantee accurate financial reporting and adherence to all applicable standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance capacity
  • Experience in real estate or public accounting is advantageous
  • CPA certification is a plus

Skills and Competencies

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including checks, wires, and other disbursement requests, while managing recurring accounts payable tasks.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, prepare intercompany billings, and record cash receipts.
  • Generate accounts receivable reports, follow up on collections, manage construction draw billings and cash receipts, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries, oversee month-end accounts payable accruals, and conduct financial statement flux analysis workpapers.
  • Assist with monthly closing activities, interim and year-end audits, and special projects as required.
  • Efficiently code, input, and process payables, prepare general ledger journal entries, maintain records, and reconcile amounts.
  • Research and interpret accounting data to address financial inquiries and provide insights.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and amortization entries, review the general ledger for unusual items, and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Assist in preparing GAAP basis consolidated financial statements, including data analysis from the general ledger and other departments.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and financial analytics for monthly and quarterly financial packages.
  • Support the annual audit process and contribute to the issuance of audited financial statements.
  • Complete company-required training by established deadlines.
  • Adhere to all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Estimated Pay Rate:

$30.00

This position is non-exempt; the range above reflects hourly rates. The displayed pay range is determined by the skills and experience required, location, and job complexity. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience of individual candidates. This range reflects the base rate only and does not include allowances, perks, commissions, or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
