Junior Corporate Accountant - Corporate Finance

Position Overview

The Junior Corporate Accountant will be instrumental in assisting the corporate finance team by executing various accounting functions with precision and effectiveness. This position encompasses the management of payables, the preparation of journal entries, and the execution of reconciliations, among other vital accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the aptitude to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. This is an hourly role with duties that cover diverse facets of corporate finance. The Junior Corporate Accountant will collaborate closely with fellow team members and other departments to guarantee accurate financial reporting and adherence to all pertinent standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Professional Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance capacity
  • Experience in real estate or public accounting is advantageous
  • CPA certification is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including checks, wires, and other disbursement requests, while managing recurring accounts payable functions.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, prepare intercompany billings, and post cash receipts.
  • Generate accounts receivable reports, follow up on collections, manage construction draw billings and cash receipts, and conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries, oversee month-end accounts payable accruals, and perform financial statement flux analysis workpapers.
  • Assist with monthly closing activities, interim and year-end audits, and special projects as required.
  • Efficiently code, input, and process payables, prepare general ledger journal entries, maintain records, and reconcile amounts.
  • Research and interpret accounting data to resolve financial inquiries and provide insights.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and amortization entries, review the general ledger for unusual items, and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of GAAP basis consolidated financial statements, including data analysis from the general ledger and other departments.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and financial analytics for monthly and quarterly financial packages.
  • Support the annual audit process and contribute to the issuance of audited financial statements.
  • Complete company-required training by established deadlines.
  • Adhere to all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation

Estimated Rate of Pay: $30.00

This position is non-exempt; the range above reflects hourly rates. The pay range displayed for this position is determined by the skills and experience required, location, and job complexity. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only and does not include allowances, perks, commissions, or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
