Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Graduate Accountant II to join our team in the Office of Administrative Services, Division of Fiscal Management, Payment and Processing Section. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for performing technical professional accounting duties, providing technical expertise, and overseeing the preparation and maintenance of financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex accounting tasks, including the application of accounting principles, methods, and procedures in the establishment, analysis, and maintenance of accounting records.
  • Provide technical expertise and historical information to aid management in decision-making for assigned agencies.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Monitor and audit expenditures and revenues to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain eMARS financial reports, including monthly Internal Transactions Initiators, Internal Transaction Agreements, and Internal Exchange Transactions.
  • Process and correct personnel travel expenditures.
  • Oversee the accounting of cash receipts and manual disbursements of funds.
  • Research complex accounting matters and prepare financial reports.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • One year of professional accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Day-to-day accounting skills, including projections/forecasting, fiscal analysis, and ability to see the big picture.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Excel experience, including pivot tables, creating formulas, and charts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive eMARS experience, including creating JV documents and eMARS reporting.
Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title typically perform work in an office setting.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.
