Position Overview: The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in the upkeep, installation, and repair of mechanical systems associated with coil processing production machinery. This position demands proficiency in diagnosing issues, executing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance assessments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience through a mechanical training program and/or certifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety practices and a commitment to personal and workplace safety.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of engineering specifications and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, pumps, power transmission systems, preventive maintenance programs, welding, lubrication, and rigging.
  • Knowledge of bearing installation, maintenance, alignment, and common failure causes.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and skill enhancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance on coil processing machinery.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on industrial drive systems, including gearboxes, chains, belts, and bearings.
  • Adjust and optimize manufacturing machine systems, including operational interlocks and energy isolation systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, machine history, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide technical recommendations to enhance equipment efficiency and longevity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and improve technical solutions.
  • Document maintenance actions and communicate any irregularities effectively.
  • Test machinery to ensure compliance with production and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Guide production personnel in routine maintenance practices.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and tooling effectively.
  • Perform pipe fitting, welding, and brazing tasks as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry protocols, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Implement reliability objectives within the assigned area.
