Position Overview:

The Automation Specialist plays a crucial role in the conceptualization and design of innovative automated and robotic systems, while also providing ongoing support and enhancements for existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

The following outlines the essential functions of this role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Develop and document control systems for various custom automated machinery.
  • Under the guidance of the Lead Automation Specialist, execute electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic designs, alongside robotic programming and machine PLC programming.
  • Create and maintain design schematics using CAD and CREO software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality issues, while driving continuous improvement in processes and methods.
  • Oversee machine debugging, power-up procedures, and validation processes.
  • Contribute to the formulation of testing protocols for mechanical components and machinery.
  • Assist in engineering calculations related to stress, strain, force, torque, tolerancing, thermal, and fluid flow, developing appropriate models for analysis.
  • Provide ongoing support to manufacturing operations.
  • Foster continuous efficiency and effectiveness in daily tasks.
  • Share and implement best practices across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in an Automation role, preferably within the hydraulics sector.
  • Proficient in designing mechanical assemblies and programming systems for Robotics, Automated Systems, Vision Systems, and Machine Controls.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to task completion.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee may be required to lift and move items weighing at least 15 pounds without assistance.

Work Environment:

This position operates in both a professional office setting and on the manufacturing floor, where noise levels can vary significantly.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional overnight and international travel may be necessary.
