Position Overview: The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the installation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of mechanical systems associated with coil processing production machinery. This role necessitates the ability to identify and rectify issues while conducting preventative maintenance assessments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent mechanical training and/or certifications.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and a proactive approach to personal and team safety.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of engineering specifications and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, pumps, power transmission systems, preventive maintenance programs, welding, lubrication, and rigging.
  • Familiarity with bearing installation, lubrication, alignment, and understanding of failure causes.
  • Eagerness to enhance skills and knowledge through training.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, performing necessary repairs and preventive maintenance on coil processing machinery.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on industrial drive systems, including gearboxes, sprockets, chains, belts, and pulleys; replace bearings as needed.
  • Adjust and optimize various manufacturing machine systems, operational interlocks, sensors, and energy isolation protocols.
  • Maintain certifications for calibrated equipment and ensure accurate maintenance documentation and machine history records.
  • Provide technical recommendations to enhance efficiency, reusability, and longevity of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess and improve technical solutions and strategies.
  • Document and communicate maintenance actions and any irregularities observed.
  • Test machinery to ensure compliance with production and quality standards.
  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Guide production personnel in routine preventive maintenance practices.
  • Manage and oversee spare parts and tooling inventory.
  • Perform pipe fitting, welding, and brazing tasks as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including rigging methods, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space entry regulations, while utilizing personal protective equipment.
  • Implement reliability objectives within the assigned area.
