Position Overview: The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the installation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of mechanical systems associated with coil processing machinery. This role necessitates proficiency in diagnosing issues and executing preventative maintenance inspections.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent mechanical training and certifications.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and the well-being of oneself and colleagues.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of engineering specifications and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, pumps, power transmission systems, PM programs, welding, lubrication, and rigging.
  • Familiarity with bearing installation, lubrication techniques, alignment, and failure analysis.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and skill enhancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring preventive maintenance and adjustments on coil processing equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on industrial drive systems, including gearboxes, sprockets, chains, belts, and pulleys; replace bearings as necessary.
  • Perform machine adjustments on various manufacturing systems, operational interlocks, sensors, and energy isolation protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records for calibrated equipment, maintenance logs, and machine history.
  • Provide technical recommendations to enhance efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and refine technical solutions.
  • Document maintenance activities and report any irregularities.
  • Test machinery to ensure compliance with production and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide production personnel in routine preventive maintenance practices.
  • Manage and oversee spare parts and tooling inventory.
  • Execute pipe fitting, welding, and brazing tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including rigging methods, lockout/tagout protocols, and confined space entry requirements, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Implement reliability objectives within the designated area.
